#Design Defying “Gravity with Grace”

Step into the realm where the unpredictable meets the meticulous at Galerie Philia's whimsical debut at Salon Art + Design. Titled "Gravity and Grace," this exhibition, curated by the ever-imaginative Ygaël Attali, is not just a showcase; it's a dance of design and philosophy, inspired by Simone Weil's musings on beauty's delicate balance between chance and intention.

Here, onyx isn't just a stone; it's a canvas for creativity. Limited to just eight editions each, these pieces are as exclusive as they are exquisite. Australian design maestro Henry Wilson turns the humble stool into an onyx throne, while Ukrainian design wizards Victoria Yakusha light up the space with floor lamps that could have been plucked from a fairy tale.

Italian designer Pietro Franceschini plays a three-block tango with his coffee table creation, blending geometry with whimsy. Not to be outdone, Mexican design virtuoso Andres Monnier doubles the fun with a console and a mirror that might just reflect your soul.

Belgian design savant Pierre de Valck takes us back in time with a modern twist with his gueridon, while Studiopepe, the Italian dynamic duo, throws a curveball with a console that redefines eclectic chic.

And let's not forget the Indian studio Paul Matter, turning onyx monoliths into silent storytellers of design. Capping off this parade of elegance is Morghen Studio from Italy, suspending disbelief (quite literally) with a piece that’s as much a feat of engineering as it is of art.

"Gravity and Grace" at Galerie Philia is more than just an exhibition; it's a whimsical whirlwind tour through the minds of some of the world's most creative designers. It's where onyx whispers its centuries-old secrets, and each piece tells a tale of beauty straddling the line between chance and craft. So, step in and let these masterpieces take you on a journey where gravity is defied, and grace is the guide.
