The Bronze Age by Demisch Danant
One of this summer’s best shows in New York City is presented by Demisch Danant Gallery “The Bronze Age” inspired by one of the oldest materials known to man, Bronze.
Selected works by fabulous artists such as Jaques Dumond, René Gabriel, Sheila Hicks, Francis Jourdain, Maria Pergay and César among others evoque the allure and essence of summer that captures the ambient light of dusk by the beach.
Fascinating art works and one of a kind pieces of furniture are exposed to the public such as Joseph- André Motte vanity with mirror (1965), the fabulous stainless steel and foam daybed and the Lampe Dragon in bronze and stainless steel (1967), the red lacquered wood console (1967)by Maria Pergay upholstered in a tobacco shade velvet, the lacquer red console with mirror by Gustave Gautier a true piece of art, lamps and table with extensions , a credenza,and a magnificent pair of armchairs by Joseph André Motte, the low table in rattan and glass by Louis Sognot, furniture pieces such as a pair of Bridge Chairs , nesting tables in a set of three by Maxime Old, the brown leather tubular sofa by Michel Boyer (1970) his Brasilia lamp (1974) in lacquered steel and linen shade, the Bronze Retro lamp by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrence (2022) and to top it all the incredible Masque No.20 sculpture by César.
