Talfoto Studio: A love story for botanical art

Everybody knows my passion for the botanical universe and especially for flowers so when I meet artists that masterfully share the most idyllic images I inmediately want to share their vision with my readers.

When I met Tal at a perfume class I never knew that I had encountered a true genius and her amazing work for her brand Talfoto Studio which creates a series of prints, paper gifts especially made to inspire and empower.

Talfoto is a women owned, Brooklyn based, eco friendly company, specializing in botanical fine art, uplifting and educating through their photo series such as The Petal Series.

Fine art and Fashion photographer Tal Shpantzer also brings her award winning photography to boutiques, museums and stationery shops with a perfectly curated collection of art prints, home goods and fine fragrances.

“ My interest in photography lies principally in exploring moments that are undefined . I am fascinated when a dialog emerges from what appears to be the simplest moments from states of uncertainty and transcience. A raw and unpretentious moment can reveal complexities, evoke imagined histories and hidden truths” states Shpantzer.

To complement her work She also made a collaboration with Brooklyn based perfume company Euphorium called “Pétales” the perfect scent for the declared Anthophiliacs bringing her art to life as a perfume.

Shpantzer and Dirkes have interpreted the atmosphere and richness of the portraits as well as the emotional and psychological framework as a scent.

Dirkes said: “I was inspired by the images and the dark, moody complex world of light, shadow, context and communication they evoke. Tao’s photos created a new way for me to approach the idea of creating a floral perfume”

Shpantzer said: “ Bringing a two dimensional surface, a photograph, into the world of scent was a challenge. Tailored to the scents I love and my amnesia, enhanced scents memories, Pétales is deeply connected to my personal history and the scents I find compelling. Years in the making Pétales is a labor of love”.

Tal’s work has been featured and published globally such as Best of photo Vogue It. Top,an Generation Magazine, W Magazine, NY NOW and New Voices Saatchi Art collection, and her fabulous botanical products can be found in The NYBG, Harvard Art Museum shop, Atlanta Botanical Garden shop.
